What exercises do you enjoy? What would you like to try doing?
For mental health, we have to remember that physical health is a factor. What is your body telling you it needs? Self-care! Is it a swim, a brisk walk, dance, or some other physical exercise? It’s scientifically proven that an exercise routine releases proteins called neurotrophic or growth factors. They help your brain feel better, and over time, they help relieve depression. High-intensity exercise gives off the body’s feel-good chemicals called endorphins. Pick something you enjoy or think you might enjoy. If you can, pick someone to exercise with, too. A social activity could also improve your mental health. Someone to keep you accountable will help you go back to it when you don’t “feel like it.”
