How is your day? Have you paused just for you? Feel the music. Enjoy the moment. Have you gone through old CDs, 8 tracks, cassette tapes, or records recently? Some down time during the holidays may be a perfect time to bring some of those songs back into rotation for you. You may even remember more details about a memory triggered from a certain song. That’s fun to think about. Music is a great idea for a dopamine hit, especially if you’re feeling down.
Even if holidays coming up aren’t a good time for you, remember the best times of your life aren’t limited to the past. You can make new memories today. No matter your life’s season, there is always someone who you can relate to with music. You don’t even have to be in the same age range or from the same part of the world. Music connects people and time. A song from the 1950s can touch a 19-year-old because of the lyrics and instruments. An 80-year-old can vibe with a song that released last week. We are not limited. Music exploration in itself can bring many positive feelings and even a sense of adventure. Let me know if you try it for yourself.
If listening to music doesn’t initiate strong positive emotions for you, do something that does. Fight stress with some fun.
